I hosted my very first shopping event & meet and greet at Ann Taylor back in October but finally have the chance to explain to you all how it all went and my experience! First, being a member of Style Collective really helped putting this event together. Annie Spano, the founder of Style Collective had told us that she has really good partnership with the Loft and Ann Taylor and I figured hosting an event would be a great way to actually network and meet fellow bloggers in person as well as build more awareness to my brand.
To actually host an event at one of the stores, it was pretty simple. All you had to do was reach out to the manager of the store and tell them that you are a Style Collective Member and interested in hosting an event. I decided to choose the NYC location (Rockefeller Plaza) since it’s a busy area and no matter what day it is, there’s always going to be a way to bring foot traffic in because its NYC! I reached out to my blogger friend Talie to see if she would be interested in hosting the event together so we both can bring in people and making it easier for both of us to promote it. So glad she said yes, we spoke with the Samira, the manager at Ann Taylor, she was so amazing and so sweet to work with! We told her how we loved the brand and that being on Instagram and engaging with people online we’d like to take it to the next step and host an event in the store to network and for the store to make sales as well. We promoted the event on all social accounts, Eventbrite, and email sends.
Thursday, Oct 18 (6-8pm)
On the day of our event, Talie and I went in earlier to pick out outfits to wear for the event, so we both chose something similar to our personal taste. I ended up going with a classic pair of leather leggings because you can wear them on repeat!, a v neck orange sweater with pearls embedded on the sleeves, black patent kitten heels and a gorgeous pearl necklace.
We hired a photographer to take photos of the event and he did an amazing job capturing our event! Samira ordered sparkling water, cookies, fruits, and cheese and crackers, everyone loved those! It was a really nice time mingling, talking to everyone who stopped by, and taking photos with everyone. I’m glad I chose the Rockefeller Plaza location since it’s a great location especially bringing tourists in and people stopping by after work. It was an excellent event where everyone snacked and shopped!
