Not complaining though, I did SO many fun activities this summer and really kept myself busy with so many weekend trips and events which made the days go by real quick! I’m sad that summer is slowly coming to an end but really excited to layer up with printed scarves & stylish booties. Are you still figuring out last minute labor day weekend plans? Keep on reading to find 10 things you can do this weekend even if you’re staying local.

10 THINGS YOU CAN DO THIS LABOR DAY WEEKEND:

Lay out by the pool and get some vitamin D! Find someone who may have a pool or check out local areas near you that may let you get a day pass to use the pool.

This is the weekend to hit the beach and get some last minute color haha. Some beaches close to Westchester are: Jones Beach and Robert Moses in Long Island, Todd’s Point & Byram Beach in Greenwich, CT, and Rye Beach in Rye, NY. At Rye, you can check out the tiki bar for some tropical drinks and fun. I however, will be at Paddy’s Beach Club this Sunday for the last Sunday Funday event. There’s going to be a DJ, drinks, and It’s on the beach, excited to check that out!

There’s THREE local rooftop spots you can check out in Fairfield County. One is Sign of the Whale in Stamford, CT and the other is a new rooftop called Evarito’s Mexican Kitchen & Bar in Norwalk, CT. There’s also Residence Inn in downtown area. I know for sure this weekend, I’ll be going to one of them. There’s a strip of bars in Stamford or White Plains, NY if you wanted to have one of those nights, it’s always a good time.

4. B A R B E Q U E

Labor day weekend is all about spending time with family and friends and grilling. Go to a barbeque or host one at your place and invite all of your good friends. My favorite thing about going to a bbq is enjoying all of the food but also being in the moment and spending time with loved ones.

5. C H E C K  O U T  A  N E W  R E S T A U R A N T

This weekend if you have nothing to do, grab your friend and hit a local new restaurant near you! Malibu Taco in Fairfield just recently opened and I’ve been dying to check it out. I’ve heard they have pink tacos and delicious margaritas! Guys, I’ll be there this weekend!

Whatever you’re craving…go to a local ice cream store or frozen yogurt spot which will taste good on a hot sunny day. Some places I have in mind are Dairy Queen, Stew Leonard’s, MilkCraft (SO GOOD), Bona Bona, Sixteen Handles & Pressed Juicery for their vegan soft serve ice cream!

Trying to get away for the weekend or leave the city? Check out some of these spots: (RI) –  Watch Hill, Newport, Block Island, (NY) – Montauk, Fire Island, Lake Gorge (CT) – Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, Candlewood Lake. If you want to be local, then book a staycation trip in your town, it’s always nice to do one of those!

If you want to keep it lowkey, here are a few things you can do: Pick up your favorite book, catch up on netflix shows, create fun blog content, take a stroll to the park & meditate, organize your space, get a facial or massage, listen to music, go shopping, watch a new movie, or just catch up on life!
