3 DAY WEEKEND TRIP TO BOSTON : SUMMER GUIDE TO WHERE TO EAT, DRINK & HANG OUT!

I had off from work last week but went to a ton of networking events which kept me busy! @Shamikapandit and I decided to do a weekend getaway trip to Boston. I only went one another time last summer for a day event but didn’t have much time to explore the city. Since Shamika has been there multiple times and even has family there, we decided we’d make a trip out of it!

DAY 1

WHERE WE STAYED IN BOSTON:

Luckily, Shamika’s cousin lives in Somerville, about 10-15 min outside of Boston. We ended up staying at her cousin’s place which was really nice of him and a convenient Uber ride to get into downtown. We drove up Friday around 11am and hit so much traffic but made it around 4pm.

QUICK STOP AT CAMBRIDGE FOR LUNCH

Before we unloaded our bags to the apartment, we ended up driving around Cambridge area and stopped at Tatte’s Bakery & Cafe for lunch and a latte. I had their fresh mozzarella sandwich and an iced green matcha latte. This bakery is super cute, they have fresh baked goods and selections of salads and sandwiches. We ended up stopping in front of a Milk Bar shop which I’ve never been to but Shamika told me their truffles are delish! We both got the birthday truffles which comes 3 in a pack and omg, it was so yummy! It was a vanilla-milk infused cake morsels, coated in a drizzle of white chocolate and rolled in b-day crumbs, I mean that called my name haha!

READY FOR DOWNTOWN

Once we got back to the apartment, we unloaded all of our bags and got ready to go to downtown. We met up with one of my old coworkers who happened to be visiting his family in Boston. We went to the landing first which I definitely recommend. It’s pretty much an outdoor bar by the water that is known for their fishbowls and frozen drinks. We hung out there for a little while and then walked over to Pasta Beach, an Italian restaurant that also has outdoor seating. We picked on a few apps and I had my frose. Afterwards, we headed to State Street Provisions for a couple drinks before heading back to the apartment.

DAY 2

SATURDAY BRUNCH + BEER GARDEN

On Saturday, My cousin and her friend drove up early morning to meet us at Gather for brunch. I liked the atmosphere at this place, and since it was so nice out we sat outside. We all ordered the Shamshuka’s because it looked so damn good lol! After brunch, we went to Cisco Seaport Brewers which is a beer garden in Boston that has a live band, outdoor seating, and drinks. We met up with some of my cousins other friends and all hung out, it was a fun Saturday afternoon. We were there for a good while and then went to take a little break back at the apartment.

SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER AT LOLITAS + BARS

We ended up having a late dinner at 9pm at Lolita since lunch was pretty filling. We ended up going to the Boston Back Bay location. The service was slacking a bit but the food was so good!! We all ordered a ton of appetizers to share and it was the perfect amount.

We ended up going to The Greatest Bar after dinner but I don’t think it was the greatest bar (LOL)! There were an interesting crowd of college students and it was $10 to get in which wasn’t that packed but we made a night out of it.

DAY 3

SUNDAY BRUNCH + SHOPPING

We all woke up early to go back to our favorite spot at Tatte’s bakery in downtown Boston for breakfast this time. I got the croissant sandwich and a latte, so good!! My cousin and Shamika mentioned that the store Primark is a go to spot when coming here. So we headed to Newbury street which has cute boutiques, shops, and dining. The store Primark is close to like a Marshalls but super affordable! I ended up purchasing a white romper cover up for the beach, a cute printed fanny pack for when I go walking, and got 3 gorgeous earrings (Hot Pink, Leopard, and Orange earrings) which I’ll probably take with me to Miami in September.

We were all craving something sweet, so first went into Georgetown Cupcake so Shamika could have her cupcake, and then my cousin and I stopped at Amorino where we had a couple of their macaroons, literally my favorite.

I had a fun time exploring Boston and visiting some cool places. Boston is so different than NYC! It’s more of a calmer relaxed city whereas NYC is where everything is happening. I’m of a NYC girl haha but I did enjoy my time here.
