The true meaning of friendships between you and your blogger bestie is not only looking your best on camera for the gram but to create a friendship that connects you both on a deeper level. I’ve met most of my blogging friends through networking events, on social media or through blogger events. There’s one blogger babe in particular who has been so supportive and has been there for me since day one. I met Vanessa Samuel of @vanesslandstyle two years ago…wow I can’t believe how much time has passed. Keep on reading to find out how we met, where we met, and to hear some of our friendship stories.
HOW VANESSA SAMUEL AND I MET
Two years ago on September 2017, I was sitting on the train heading into NYC for NYFW and thinking who I’ll bump into. I attended a couple of shows and I was reaching out to bloggers online who wanted to connect in between shows to hang out and to take photos with. As I was standing in line for one of my shows, I saw Vanessa looking super fabulous and so stylish. She was wearing a black feathered skirt, a blue detailed sparkly top and fun red earrings. We both connected right away and I knew from that second that we were going to get along just fine with our outgoing personalities. We ended up sitting at the show together, taking each other’s photos and stopping by Chelsea market for a quick bite to get to know each other a bit more.

VANESSA’S BACKGROUND
Vanessa’s originally from Denver, CO and she moved to NYC about a year ago! She was a electrical engineer at her past job and moved to NYC so she can follow her dreams in the fashion industry. Her blog Vanessalandstyle.com incorporates fashion and engineering together so she’s always hustling trying to come up with some exciting content!
OUR FRIENDSHIP THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS
Our friendship has grown so much the past couple of years! Vanessa is a bubbly, outgoing, friendly and passionate gal! We get along so well because we both love to travel, we use our entrepreneurial creativity, and we keep it real and are always silly together. We are constantly giving each other advice and always trying to help one another out. We’ve both explored NYC together like it’s our job (haha) and gone out together. When we go out…we ALWAYS have a fun crazy time.
Some of my favorite memories of us are: attending NYFW events, photographing for 8 hours straight even in the freezing cold, hanging out till 4am, long phone calls talking about personal to blogging stuff and staycation trips that are much needed.
It’s so important to have close genuine friendships who share the same interests. Through my blogging, I’ve met so many incredible people who have the same passion as I do. You never know who you bump into but hey, you can meet your blogger bestie in line at a NYFW event too. If you guys know me, I’m a social butterfly and am always down to have a fun time. l love that Vanessa and I always have fun no matter what we’re doing. We learn from each other and become the best versions of ourselves. There’s times where we’re both frustrated with where we want to be in life, but at the end of the day we always try to look at the positive outlook and create goals in order to figure things out.

7 THINGS TO TAKE FROM TURNING YOUR BLOGGER FRIENDSHIP INTO A LONG-LASTING ONE:

- Personality is EVERYTHING! If you both share similar characteristics and feel a way about a certain subject then you’ll know it’s a match!
- Sharing similar interests is key when building a friendship. Grab coffee with your blogger babe and talk about things rather than the blog to understand what you both like.
- Get out of your comfort zone! Try a dance workout class together, go to a NYFW event, attend a blogger event, or go out to a bar for a drink.
- Be Silly together! Do a photoshoot in NYC or wherever and capture content for both of your feeds.
- Get To Understand your blogger babe! You’ll know the difference between someone who’s the life of the party and someone who’s down to have fun and genuinely wants to see you grow and tell you about their personal life.
- Real friends borrow each other’s outfits ALL the time! Whether it’s for a photoshoot, going out, or traveling, your blogger bestie should have your back!
- A true friend that wants to see you grow rather then put you down! Jealousy is a disease. If only one of you gets that job, or if only one of you gets invited to an exclusive event…clap your hands for your gal! You’re blogger babe should support you 100% and you’re there to be each other’s cheerleaders.
