TIPS ON STAYING HEALTHY WHILE WFH + NUTRITIONAL SNACKS I’M MUNCHING ON

The start of 2020 has been pretty rough. We’re all going through a difficult time with the covid-19 outbreak and while we’re all trying to be patient and stay positive during this time, we are finding ways to become more efficient as we all WFH (work from home). Although, we tend to snack a little more while being at home, I’m going to share with you guys some tips on what to eat during this time and taking this as an opportunity to grow and focus on your goals.

I’m sure most of you have worked from home in the past but for those who haven’t and this is completely new to you, check out my friend Vanessa’s post here , she talks about how to be efficient and productive when WFH and how to create a clean space by eliminating any distractions around you to get things done!

As you guys know me from my instagram posts and stories that I live a busy lifestyle and am always on the go! It’s been a little tough for me WFH as I do get bored pretty easily (not sure if it’s a gemini thing lol), but I like to change my scenery here and there. I’ve been taking this as an opportunity to focus on myself by changing my diet during the coronavirus for a nice detox to restart my body.

I went to wholefoods the other day to get a small list of fresh goods for the week, here are some of the items I got just to name a few:

Wholefoods list

  • daily probiotic juices to drink in the morning
  • organic garlic hummus
  • carrots & celery
  • hemp seed blueberry granola
  • RightRice made from vegetables
  • beet noodles
  • sweet potato fries

Here are some tips/examples of what you can eat during the next couple of weeks staying home to get back on the right track:

Breakfast Ideas:
Granola with banana and oat milk
oatmeal and fruits
protein bar
protein shake (whey protein, banana, almond butter, oat or almond milk).

Snack Ideas:
apples with almond butter
protein bar
yogurt with fruits
hummus and crackers or with carrots/celery

Dinner Ideas:
chicken soup
burger with sweet potato fries and vegetables
2 boiled eggs with vegetables
salad with grilled chicken or eggs
chicken thighs with Right Rice and veggies
Beet noodles with salad + your favorite toppings

Some healthy snacks I’m currently munching on while WFH:

Iwon Organics – I am obsessed with these snacks! They come in a bunch of different flavors. These protein snacks are flavor-infused, organic, protein snacks made from high quality plant-based proteins like peas, beans, and brown rice. Use my code: “AMB30” for a 30% discount sitewide!

Kalumi Beauty Bars – These marine collagen-infused “beauty food” bars can offer an inside-out approach to skincare thanks to nutrient-rich superfoods that have known anti-aging benefits. I am testing out the cocoa kiss flavor which is “A RICH, CHOCOLATE BROWNIE WITH CRUNCHY CACAO NIBS.”

Rawmantic Bars – These chocolate and energy protein bars are NY based! These chocolates are freshly handcrafted from organic ingredients. It is fair-trade, dairy -free, lactose free, and gluten free. These are great for snacking or after a workout.

Since all gyms in CT & NY are closed, I’ve been taking the time to workout at home each day for at least 30 min preferably in the morning. There’s many fitness studios that are doing virtual workout classes (keep an eye out for them on IG or FB), and there’s tons of videos you can watch online to get your day going. You just need a yoga mat, weights & bands if you have them, otherwise you can do core workouts. Check out youtube, your favorite fitness instructor instagram page, or facebook for video tutorials on working out.

What are some tips you recommend on staying healthy during this tough time? Any fitness apps you currently are using? Take this time to refocus, journal, meditate, yoga + workout, eat healthier, catch up on shows+movies, facetime a loved one who needs your support and learn something new!
