DIY FLORAL TRAY WITH BOARDANDBRUSH

Hi everyone! I hope you’re taking the time to focus on you and your goals and trying out new things. This Summer, I went to BoardandBrush in Danbury, CT, a creative studio where you can make custom DIY wood pieces. It reminded me of those paint & sip studios where you paint a canvas and sip on drinks. There were so many options to choose from but I decided to go with the modern floral tray since I can use it for so many different things.

WHEN I ARRIVED THERE…

When I arrived there, everyone had their wood pieces in front of them, ready to get started. The instructor went around the room and helped us create our piece step by step. Since it was my first time there, I was nervous that my design wouldn’t come out as good, but was surprised when I was done with it. No matter your creativity skills, you can’t go wrong with ruining your design plus the instructor comes around if you’re stuck.

WHEN CREATING…

Some of the steps in creating our custom wood pieces were light hammering to make marks on our piece, sanding, picking a base color, then you can pick your fun colors to design with….it was a lot of fun! I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it this much but it’s the perfect quarantine activity too.

MODERN FLORAL TRAY IS PERFECT FOR…

I chose the modern floral tray because it’s big enough to put all of your favorite goodies in. It’s great for entertaining, barbeques, holiday events, parties, hanging out by poolside and so many more! I recently brought mine over to my friend’s pool and made it into a DIY charcuterie board. I added some of my favorite wine cans, grapes, brie cheese, and turkey pepperoni, it looked so amazing! It was SO nice sitting out by the pool sipping on bubbly and having light bites.

Have you been to BoardandBrush before? What kind of piece would you make and why? Check out their gallery here.

Literally perfection!

Ps. Social Sparkling wines have been my all-time summer drink to lay out by the pool and socialize with friends. It comes in different flavors and it’s only 88 calories, and gluten-free! I love that it’s a clean wine drink and literally tastes like juice. If you want to try it out yourself, use code: Neelab15 for 15% off!
