One of the days on Labor Day Weekend, I decided to go on a day trip to Port Jeff in Long Island, NY! I’ve never been before but the ferry leaves from Bridgeport, CT to Port Jeff which was only about a 45-55 min Ferry ride, not bad at all! I loved that the ferry was huge and when you get on top, there’s so many seats, making it super spacious and the views were amazing.
When Arriving + First Stop
We took a 9 am ferry ride and got to Port Jeff around 10 am. When we got off the ferry, we walked around a bit and headed our way to Sweet N Savory a cafe and crepe shop that had mouth-watering crepes and rice pudding. I loved the vibes and was obsessed when I saw the leopard print couches and seatings. I got the Nutella, Banana & Broken Reese’s PB Cups crepes and french toast rice pudding, they both were SO satisfying!
Wine Tasting
We came across Pindar Wine Shop and saw that they did wine tastings, so we immediately walked in to start our early afternoon sipping on wine. It was $12.00 per person for a tasting of up to five wines. We were the only ones there so it felt like we had our own VIP section.
Port Jeff Brewing Company
After Wine tasting to get a nice buzz, we headed to Port Jeff Brewing Company to try out some of their craft beer. I’m not really a beer person, so I had the seltzer option on the menu and it was pretty good! We sat outside and they had beer kegs as seatings, it was cute!
SaGhar Indian Fusion – Apps + Drinks
We saw this cute Indian fusion restaurant called SaGhar Indian Fusion that was on the rooftop and wanted to check it out. Since we had late lunch plans at a different spot, we decided to share a bowl of honey chili fries and a round of drinks to get started. The inside was very bright with beautiful modern Indian art, exotic cocktails, and the rooftop vibe was really cool!
Wave Seafood & Steak At Danford’s
Danford’s was our last spot and probably one of the highlights of our trip! The restaurant was literally on the dock with beautiful waterfront views, boats coming in and out, and the views were just spectacular! We had a late lunch and kept the drinks going. We ended up sitting there for a good couple of hours. After we finished our food, we sat closer to the water with our cocktails, watching the boats come and go and the breeze was on point.
FERRY RIDE BACK
We took a 7 pm ferry ride back to Bridgeport, CT and so glad we did because we watched the sunset on the way back and the skies were so pretty! I had a blast going there on Labor Day, there were so many cute little shops, bars, cafes. I would definitely check it out, it’s a great day trip!
